2 people singing need a mic that picks up voices, plugs into amp

Solution
Shure SM58. Best, most common all purpose vocal microphone on the market. Used by karoake shows, professional musicians, sound stage performers and anybody who wants a "go to" microphone. Runs about 100 bucks, but you can probably find one cheaper.

I have five that I use for karaoke and DJ work, plus various recording work. Fantastic microphones.

Thank you, Darkbreeze! Can this mic plug into an amp and a Mac?Also, can they be used with wireless system? Not too worried about the wireless option, as long as it picks up both our voices while I play guitar, or another instrument. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

What it can plug into depends entirely on the type of cable you use with it, or how it is adapted. Generally they are used directly cabled to an amp or mixer, but can also be adapted down to 1/4" or 1/8" adapters. Honestly, if you're in an area where you have one, your best bet is to visit your local Guitar center, Musicians friend or a similar local music shop and talk with with them. Ask to talk to somebody with actual experience, as a lot of chain stores hire less knowledgeable people sometimes. Most of them have experts available though.

Explain what your intentions are, that you are interested in using an SM58 mic and they can help you determine the correct accessories for your specific application.

I've use the SM58 directly to sound cards that come with XLR connections and also with setups that have either 1/4" or 1/8" inputs, but you have to be sure to use the correct cables or adapters as some configurations may not have compatible resistance so the correct cables or adapters is crucial depending on the hardware you're connecting to.
