PC specifications:
R5 5600
Inno 3d Rtx 2060 6gb
Msi B450m pro vdh max
8x2 3200mhz ram
Cooler master 650w bronze power supply
512gb m.2 ssd
240gb sata ssd
2tb 7200rpm hdd

I had this issue over half a year ago and it got solved after I replaced my psu.
I've let my pc run MSI kombustor, furmark, heaven benchmark with cpu stressed for an hour and my pc never crashed but every time while playing the usual games this particular thing happens randomly.

Whenever this happens, I have to press the restart button on my pc case and it boots me into the bios, sometimes it doesn't even detect the m.2 SSD.

I have to run sfc /scannow once every couple of weeks because whenever I run that command it always fixes something broken in my windows.

I'd like to diagnose and put an end to this problem. Any help will be appreciated.

How much free space is available on the m.2 ssd?
Benchmarks don't store shader cache, games do, and if there's not adequate space available it will halt the system.

Coolermaster is the brand of the PSU while 650W and bronze are the advertised wattage and 80+ efficiency rating, respectively. What is the model of the unit and how old is the PSU?

It's probable that the issue has come back again.

What games are we talking about here?

What BIOS version are you working with? Make and model of your M.2 SSD?

Cooler Master MWE 650 Bronze V2 80+ bronze certified which I had bought in May 2024 so its 9 months old.

Yeah I have encountered this issue twice in 2024. You can check my posts history to get a clear image of whats going on.

Any games I play and randomly. This week, its been Hell Let Loose. BF2042 and Sea of Thieves. It crashes randomly and after the restart the game either runs fine for the rest of the time or it crashes again.
Today my PC blackscreened 30 min into Sea of Thieves and it worked fine for over 2 hours after that.
And previously my PC crashed to games like PUBG, Content Warning, Battlefield 1 and Arena Breakout: Infinite.

I believe that the bios version is 7A38vBL because I had updated to the latest bios in May 2024 when I bought a new R5 5600.
The make and model of the M.2 SSD is XPG Gammix S5 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3x4
The previous one died on me and I got it RMA'd and they sent me a new one.

Please feel free to ask more questions. I really want to get rid of this problem.

Is the additional partition an over-provisioning tactic or something else?
Idk felt like having a separate D drive for games.
How old is this drive?
This is an RMA unit. I had originally bought one in September 2021 after which that one died in October 2022. They sent me a new SSD in November 2022. In the meantime I was using a SATA SSD, the one previously mentioned as my boot drive and once I got this M.2 SSD, I cloned that SATA SSD info onto the M.2 SSD.
Make and model of the M.2 SSD: XPG Gammix S5 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3x4 512GB
That seems like a lot of sfc scanning.
Is that bad?

It looks good, but that wasn't a full pass. It may not actually be the RAM, but it's worth letting it complete.
The 2nd line on the right side which says Pass 0% in the image was 100% before everything went back to 0 and the message saying that the pass has been completed made me think that the test is complete.

What could the problem be?

I have logged the system parameters while gaming and some games crashed. The logs with crashes have the word "Crash" in them. The link will lead you to the google drive folder which has all logs recorded so far.
Please help me investigate this problem. I really want to get it solved.

I don't think afterburner monitoring logs are going to be of any help.
You don't need to be overclocking the gpu, either.
Have you allowed memtest86 to complete its test yet ?

I haven't tinkered with the GPU settings in any way. It's running at stock conditions.

No, I haven't done the complete memtest86

Closed it after an hour when it told me that there were no errors.
How long should I run it for?

Also, I would like to add that back when I had a faulty PSU, putting any load on the GPU would make the PC crash (black screen & GPU fans spinning at max) within 10 min.
With the current PSU, it can take GPU and CPU load for hours.

Could it be the brick the PSU socket is connected to? Or could it be possible fluctuations in the power from the wall?

It just struck me that the problem returned when I cleaned the pc last week. A couple of days before I started the thread.

All I did was, I cleaned the pc with a dry cloth and used a small paint brush to clean the CPU cooler fins. Removed the GPU, cleaned the dust on the back plate, and installed it again.

Since then I've reseated the GPU 2 more times hoping that this problem will get solved.

Also I've started the memtest86 test now. I'll let it run for a few hours.

There usually are fluctuations in power.
That's why you

Don't Skimp on the PSU!

This one was already kinda expensive 😅

Plus it's listed as C tier on the PSU custists website so I thought that it's decent.

Even GN did a video featuring a similar model of this PSU and told that it'll do.

Gold certified PSUs are too overpriced over here.
