I have two computers, and one of them is using a wireless adapter. Can I connect my other computer with another adapter that is the same, or do I need to connect it with an Ethernet cable?

Solution

Then each device, with their own WiFi adapter, should work no problem.
They don't even have to be the same WiFi adapters.
you could technically connect them directly to each other, but it would be easier to just use a router if you have one. directly connecting them is called an ad-hoc network

by directly connecting, I mean wirelessly. You could also use a cable between each computer's ethernet, but it has to be a crossover cable, not a straight through cable (i.e. not a standard ethernet cable), unless you have an ethernet adapter that can detect that it's directly connected to another ethernet adapter.

If you have a wireless router, both should be able to connect via WiFi. Or ethernet, or both.

What router is this?

It is the Netgear N600 wireless dual band router.
