24-pin connector completely stuck

I was starting the wiring on my PC build when I decided to plug the 24-pin connector in first. I used as much force as possible without breaking the board, but it wouldn't fully plug in. When I tried to take it out, it's not moving at all, even with the clamp pressed down. Would it be safe to unscrew the motherboard and hold the back of it while I try to plug it in? Or are there any other solutions?

Sometimes they can be very hard to get in and also very hard to get out. What is the model of the motherboard and the PSU?

If you are confident enough that you can get it out then I would suggest getting it out of the case and onto a safe surface with nothing else installed on it. So when you are pulling it out you don't accidentally damage the board or another part in the system.

Be careful and try not to damage the 24-pin cable either, hold it by the plastic block at the end so you aren't pulling on the wires inside. After firmly pushing the retention clip down, slowly pull full force but also gently moving it side to side, this will help to ease it out.

Sorry for the late reply. The motherboard I have is an Asus Prime B250-Plus, and the PSU is a Seasonic M12 II Bronze Evo Edition. I actually managed to get the 24-pin out, but I still can't get it all the way in. I also tried to remove the motherboard, but it's stuck firmly in the case. Push it in as hard as you can, I was in the exact same situation with a Corsair PSU one time. Make that click. My guess is that It would work but I can't be sure since I've never tried it.
See if pulling it out then back in repeatedly loosens it.
