24 Pin Connector Problems

Hi everybody, I am doing my first build and have had some issues with getting the machine to start. I have figured out that the PSU's 24 pin mobo connector is not going in all the way. The power supply is a Corsair CX600M. At this point, it is not an option to RMA it. Is there any trick to getting it in correctly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

no trick to it--other than it can only go in one way round

Did you just have to force it in?

takes a bit of pressure--but not huge amount--if you missed a motherboard standoff sometimes the board flexes as you try to plug it in
