2400mhz DDR4 compatibly with i7 7820x

Hi is 2400mhz ram ok to use with i7 7820x? I seen on the intel website that it said 2666mhz but I don’t know if they are meaning up to 2666mhz.

Yes that is the maximum it can support, you will be fine.

The standard is 2666, but you can use faster/slower ones.
Your safest bet is to go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and check the QVL(qualified vendors list).

The i7-7820X is still $467 if lucky to catch it on sale, compared to the the R7-2700X at $319....

That $150 difference would pay for some extra RAM...or a larger SSD...or both

The 8700K is also $120 less, if gaming is an issue.
