May 25, 2011
Ok so i thought that i could hook up an hdmi or dvi to my tv and be able to play 2560x1600 res but when i did, it did not allow me too. So does it depend on the tv or what? my tv is a LG Product Code is 42LG50-UG.AUSPHLR We bought it a few years ago. It should be able to do it due to the fact that when i was playing WOW years ago it allowed up to 4k res. And it now it does 1920x1200 for the desktop and the sides are cut off. PLEASE Help  ! Thx :D BTW i know i cant run it b/c i have a gtx 580 graphics card.
The best commercially available tv is 1080P. That is 1920 x 1080 resolution.

A 2560 x 1600 monitor will be a 30" monitor and cost about $1000.

The max resolution is the smaller of the capability of the graphics adapter or the tv.

Your GTX580 will run one or two 2560 x 1600 monitors just fine. In this case, your TV/monitor is the limitimg factor.
