[SOLVED] 2650x1440 working in Ubuntu but not in windows

I try to use a high resolution 1440p in windows but it shows a blank screen and I’m stuck at 1024x768 I believe but when I go into Ubuntu I have no issues with resolution (it lets me use any resolution) but when in windows it’s a issue

Also it works with my old monitor but not my new one, my old one is 1080p and my new one is 1440p but of course my graphics card supports 1440p (rx 480) right?

The devil is in the details. You've given almost no information about your system; not even the model of the monitor. Please provide as much information as you can.

with teh rx480, go to AMD and download the latest drivers. once installed, the resolution should work.
Make sure you are using HDMI 2. 0 or Display Port 1.4 to get higher than 1920x1080
