270x vs 280?

So I'm building a basic low/mid range PC for basically an all-in-one entertainment system (Xbox replacement), and I'm struggling to decide on a GPU. This is a HTPC build running a i3 4170 (for now).

As much as I love the 750ti's power consumption, the 2xx series are just a way better value. So it's down to the Sapphire Radeon R9 280 (3gb) which is on sale now for $160 and the Asus 270x at $165. Right off the bat the 280 seems like the better deal, but I want to get some second opinions first.... Anything I'm missing?

The 280 its cheaper and more powerful,but it consumes more power.If you have a decent psu,get the 280

The R9 280 is the better buy, it performs better, and has a bit more vRAM. It sucks up more power, though.

The R9 280 typically is the better graphics card, It's one step higher in the R9 line compared to the R9 270X.

Which power supply do you use? A quality 500 watts or higher is recommended.

Well lucky for me, this build still requires a PSU. I was thinking Corsair CX600M/CX500M.
