I noticed that new drivers were out today, 285.38 beta which is boasting 38% performance increase in BF3!? has anyone seen this or tried it in the BETA? Maybe it will not be as demanding as people think?

Did you even read that link I posted earlier? :lol: Even 1-2 years ago people were berating mousemonkey for his nvidia favouritism and nothing has changed. You are seriously green lol.

Now, who's insulting whom? :lol: Yeah, I'm "green"... and always will remain green in that sense, because IDC who's a fanboy of what. All I'm saying is that mousemonkey wouldn't get away with favoring nVidia fanboys and punishing AMD ones. Tom's isn't ran by him, ya know... there're other moderators here and if one is seen abusing his privileges, the matter will be resolved.

no your the only one that I know that has the companies avatar and actually are a huge fan boy, me myself have owned both and go for the best value at the time so by no way am I a fan boy but I like to talk about which hw I currently have, btw what are your system specs? since you never make note of them?

Furthermore I own an AMD cpu along with the NV gpu, so if that doesn't show my unpartial status then I dont know what does..

That's not a valid calculation. It would be valid if you did "X best answers in X threads." You should have "(helpful thread contributions)/(number of threads posted in)" rather than "(helpful thread contributions)/(number of posts)"
Number of threads over posts is irrelevant.

3443/59 ~58 and 1120/19 ~58 so our ratios are close but we've also both been members for about the same time, in the end who cares this is stupid

while the title of the thread was 285.38 discussion the topic was clearly not the history of nvidia driver blunders but rather just simply the new beta driver and its boasted BF3 Alpha performance

It was not relevant to the post. 285.35 was the topic. How is nvidia driver problems relevant to the performance of bf3?

The relevancy is, Nvidia drivers have killed cards in the past when they've been hurried out without enough testing. If Nvidia is hurrying out a driver then I'd be wary of updating asap. I'd be very wary of a beta driver.

If 285.35 ends up killing cards again, would I be right? I've not said that will happen, I only suggested that it makes sense to be careful.
