Solution
Per the webpage

Intel® Z390 Chipset
  • 6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports1
  • 2 x M.2 slot (Key M)1
    • Support up to PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s, 2242/ 2260/ 2280/ 22110 storage devices
    • Intel® Optane™ Memory Ready2

  1. M.2 slots and SATA ports share the bandwidth.
  2. Before using Intel® Optane™ memory modules, please ensure that you have updated the drivers and BIOS to the latest version from MSI website.

So looks like you should have 1 M.2 and 4-5 sata ports still open.

you did you get that from just an image?

googled carbon motherboard, there is a MSI x570 but has a fan on the lower shroud on the motherboard, the z390 does not. Then took my childhood skills of lets match the picture and the z390 looks just like his picture.

All the other carbon boards dont match.

..... he has a MSI z390 gaming pro carbon board

so can I add a 2nd SSD?

A second SATA drive can be added with a SATA data cable and power cable, just like the harddrive that is installed in your computer.

A second M.2 drive will take more work, you will have to remove the lower cover on the motherboard. It has the dragon on it, looks to have 3 screws in it. Once removed there is a slot to install the 2nd m.2 drive, then just replace the silver cover back over it.
