i have a 2 TB hd plugged into a chinese HD dock... i flick it on... i feel the HD spooling up... but nothing pops up in windows 8. it worked fine b4 my road trip across the largest country in the world... and the HD isnt a cheapo name its freaking SEAGATE storing a crapload of family events that i cannot part with..... is the hdd dock ruined ? i have no tower to test it on.... and canot afford another hdd dock to test this theory... (finances in Canada r suffering alot as r mine lol)

PS. yes it worked before... i feel the HD begin spinning.. but after 30 seconds it stops.. dont know if this is a function of the dock or the HD itself.. please help...

funding is a tiny issue.. if i could even get the money for a public transit ticket, id go to the store that i got this dock, even if it is a crappy one... i just need to make certain my families memories are safe with me...

well todays events have SEALED my suspicion of that PARTICULAR store, i returned to it, saw the same manager, asked him if he could test the hdd in front of me, he went pale and outright refused LOL

this finaly puts this to bed... found a computer in the trash.. sata.. lucky me... i pocket the hd and test it in the dock.. it works... it is sad that all my mohers final memories r gone.... but i can accept that...granted .. the HDD is covered by the warranty, but i couldnt really care less about the object itself...
