Did a google search and after readin for 20 min couldnt find answer so am makin post. Lookin at gettin a AMD 64 3,700+ SanDiago core, but have found 2. the E4 stepping had 500 reviews and the E6 stepping had only one. Is the E6 new ? There was only $5.00 dif in price. and specs looked the same. Is one a better proc or better OC potential than the other ?? And what is the basic goal/meaning by stepping.

The E4 is no doubt a San Diego core and the E6 is a Venice core. basically they're just the same but just differs in cache size. The San Diego has 1MB while the Venice has 512KB. So the Sandy I think has the upper hand.

Was my thoughts, to from a google search, but became confused when did a search on newegg.
