3 monitors vs 1 monitor

Hi I quad core phenom 955. I have 3-way sli on Geforce 275 gtx. I have two monitors being run by two video cards on sli and one monitor is connected to to the last video card. My question is that would it be better have this settings or just one monitor that is 24 inch. being run by all 3 video cards. I mostly use the computer for gaming and wishes to use the 3 monitor to play video games like Cod 5 and have the screen stretch out from all 3 three monitors.

Also are there a lot fo games supported by 3 monitors? Thank you for your help

If you want to use three monitors, you'll need to get this guy:

Basically, it's a little box that makes your three monitors appear like one to your computer, patching their resolutions together.

I never used it for gaming but i have run multiple monitors using nothing more than xp.

So I guess what I'm wondering is why use the box?

The box looks like a single monitor to the graphics card, so if you plug 3 x 24" monitors into it you would have an effective 6000x1200 resolution for gaming

Are all of your monitors the same size?

Yes it is all the same size all 24 inch and same brand. So is it worth it doing this or better off with one screen and have all the performance of all 3 video card work on that one monitor?
