Hello,
I have a GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card and I am trying to run three monitors but it will not let me. I can use two displays. I have it connected and it will allow me to switch the second display on the third monitor, but it will not let me have 3 separate displays. Do i need to get another graphics cards and bridge it or is the there something i need to disable to allow me to do this?

I am trying to have 3 separate monitors for different purposes, not eyefinity. I have one of my monitors connected through HDMI, and the other one i use an adapter to convert the DVI to HDMI, and on the third one i have a Mini Display adapter to HDMI. Do i need to get an Active Display port adapter for all 3 monitors to have 3 separate displays?

Nope, you do not need 3 x active dp adapters, just the 1. I have heard some claim that for 3 individual screens you can use a passive adapter, but I've never been able to replicate that on my system. Every time I've tried with passive, it restricts me to 2 monitors (just can't get that 3rd one to show in CCC) but the active adapter lets me configure it as 1x3, 3x1, or 1x2+1. A list of approved dongles can be found here >> http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx. I currently have it set; monitor 1>>dvi, monitor 2>> active dp/dvi adapter, monitor 3>>dvi. The reason I went the dvi route is that at the time of set up there were no active dp/hdmi adapter available. And although that link has active dp/hdmi adapters listed as 'coming' a quick search on newegg will show that they are out there.

Good luck.

Another quick question. If i order an Active DP adapter. Would it be a bad idea to attach an DVI to HDMI adapter at the end of the Active DP adapter. All my monitors are HDMI, so i have no choice.
