Hello!

I lucked out and I'll be getting myself a 3080 card, the 3080 msi suprim, either today or tomorrow, but I'm anxious about whether my psu will suffice.

The psu is a EVGA 750w GQ. I have a ryzen 5800x and I won't be overclocking the cpu nor the gpu.

Should I be good to go?

I’d say it’s ok. That 850w recommendation will be based on systems using CPU’s that alone can take 250w. They say the peak for that card is 370w. If you assume 400w gpu and with a 5600x the rest of the system might take 200-250w max you still have 100w headroom.

Im using a Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC with 3700x on a Platinum 650w. Under stress testing I saw a peak of 546w and in games it generally stays around 450w. If you read the small print NVidia’s own 750w recommendation was based on using a 10900k and they acknowledged other setups could use lower wattage but the reviews skip over the small print.
