Pretty much yes.
I dunno how many installs I've made, but I've made two this week that didn't work out. Well one was last weekend, but the issue didn't surface until tuesday. When playing audio cd's in windows media player the system would lock up occassionally. For now the solution is to use media player classic.
The other issue is still here. A hp nx9420 (c2d, 2gb ddr2, 500gb sata)
Installed the system (enterprise 64bit) yesterday, and now it simply failed to boot. Reinstalling now, as I couldn't repair and hadn't done much other than installing office and autocad (and drivers)

I experienced two problems. One was with the DVD LG drive (blueray), where I had to upgrade the firmware, so Win7 is able to detect it. Yes, you have to remove the drive and flash it on a another operating system (or use dual boot) to get there. Strangely after flashing of the new firmware, the Vista does not recognize it as the LG drive any more, only as standard DVD drive.

And the other is some driver missing, probably the RAID, where intel did not provide the driver yet.

I will recommend using a dual boot system before you get set up your PC. For those considering full upgrade of vista to win7, take a backup before.

My problem (W7 64bit): with Anysee TV-digibox, full screen shows weird horizontal mismatch in the middle when camera is panning. Looks like upper and lower part of the picture were calculated separately and their time sync quite not work. Maybe a driver issue.

I have XP 32bit on another hard drive, and it doesn't have this problem.
(i7 920, 6Gb memory, Nvidia 260, 2500x1900)

I had problems installing Windows 7. It froze at 62% or whatever. I found a solution but forgot what it was, exactly. I think I pulled up the command prompt at the beginning of the install wizard, left the room to look at the command to type from another computer and when I got back, it had been done installed. How? I'm not sure because the command prompt was just sitting there. My only problem now is that I'm noticing that a month and a half later, Windows 7 is starting to lag.

Well, first you have to get the GPU driver, and then restart. =D

I've only performed one Win7 install, but it was the most painless operating system load I've ever had. Very fast and easy, even though I had to contend with RAID drivers. The only trouble was trying to navigate the unfamiliar menu setups in the Control Panel area and similar, since I'm coming from XP - and that's not the fault of Win7. I'm looking forward to upgrading my own machine to the newest Windows as prices drop and service-packs come out.
