Heya folks,

I am building a new PC and had a question about RAM. I am going to get 32GB @3000mhz. Could I buy x2 16GB (8x2) and have it work as 32GB because it turns out to be 1/2 the price of getting @3000mhz 32GB (4x8GB)

Thanks in advance,

See this wont make any difference...It all comes down to 32 GB RAM...The only issue is if the motherboard is too old it might not support a 16GB RAM stick in a slot.

16+16 - Make sure you cross them...so it would be slot 1 & 3 (depending on the board) or just follow the colors.
8+8+8+8 - it wont matter where and how you put them.

It will depend on what board it is, theoretically 4x8GB gives you more bandwidth.
But also theoretically this can increase stress on the memory controller.

All in all, if it's that big a price difference, you're probably just best off going for the cheaper option.

EDIT: Typo - accidentally put 2x8, meant 4x8
