I'm building my first PC. Its for my work related things ( No editing or rendering , just simple stuff) and occasional gaming, so I decided to go with Ryzen APUs and chose 3400G as that was within my budget. But I also found that an i3 10th gen +GT1030 GDDR5 also costs the same as the 3400G. So I compared both of them and watched a lot of youtube videos (VEGA 11 VS GT1030 DDR5, RAM 16GB 3200MHZ DDR4). Vega 11 outperforms the GT1030 in some videos.
(An example one

).
But some people say that GT1030 outperforms Vega 11. I'm confused a lot. Which one should i choose considering both CPU performance and gaming ?

that 1030 gddr5 will outperform Vega 11 at stock and overclocked, you see, the gddr5 on 1030 could be overclocked more both core and memory, which could increase the performance significantly, while the vega 11 on the 3400g is limited by architechture and the imc capability. Heck even A 5600G could outperform a 1030 due to its architecture and the imc that could support 3600mhz stable, which could increase the bandwith for both gpu and cpu.

Solution
If fast action gaming is your main objective, buy a strong graphics card(better than 1030).
Otherwise for desktop work, integrated graphics from either intel or amd will do the job.
Either is sufficient for hd movie playback.
Either will play games that do not depend on fast action.
Whatever you do, plan on a ssd for your C drive.

How does vega 11 performs better than the gt 1030 in the video i mentioned? And in some other videos too. And there are different gt 1030s available in the market, like asus, msi, zotac, geforce, are they similar in performance?

The igpu in either processor is enough for normal stuff. But Intel's UHD graphics is worse in gaming. GT1030 is the only GPU i can afford. Sadly i can't go beyond that. That's why I needed to know which one is best in gaming Vega 11 or i3+ GT1030 DDR5

well its a 2020 video, everything must be different by now. you could try search ryzen 5 5600G vs 3400g, and see which have the upper hand.

like what i said, the vega 11 have 128 bit bus width that helped to feed the gpu need of bandwith, and the best guranteed frequency ram going to work on that gpu is at 3200mhz. also the vega 7 on the 5600g could clocked much higher than the vega 11 on 3400g, also 5600g imc is strong enough to run at 3600mhz-4000mhz, sometimes at tighter timings. the 1030 is limited at 64bit but it only got 2x1gb of gddr5, 32 bit each, but clocked higher, and even you could push the vram clock more, and the gpu clock more, which helped the 1030 to get more frames.

to me, it is better to get a 10100f + 1030, if you dont want to sacrifice the memory available for the igpu, and if you're planning to cheap out on ram.

I'm a newbie to this PC world , so I don't entirely understand what you are saying. From the recent gameplay videos of both vega 11 and 1030 DDR5, the FPS is almost same ,but in some cases the vega 11 performs better in non optimized games like Cyberpunk and all. The 1030 performs better only in NVDIA optimized games. I'm planning to buy 2×8gb 3200mhz ,it would be enough to feed both the igpu and the required RAM. I would have gone for i3+ 1030 if I'm planning to upgrade soon but I won't be doing that. One more thing is the OC edition of 1030DDR5 is neither available in my city nor in Amazon. So I think 3400G would be the best option for me.

if the price difference between 3400g and 5600g is not that much i would prefer 5600g for it. pair it with a 2x8gb 3600mhz ram and it will perform great.

The benefit of the 3400g and 5600G is that they include integrated graphics. The passmark rating of the 3400G is 2127.
Of the 5600g is 2638.
A future gaming upgrade will most likely be to a better graphics card, in which case you no longer get the benefit which you initially paid for.
The gt1030 has a rating of 2569.
Essentially all will perform about the same, namely a minimum level of fast action gaming.
FWIW, the Intel HD630 integrated graphics rates as 1139.

5600G would be great but it costs almost 120$ more than the 3400G. The fun fact is 3200G was my first choice but I pushed my budget and chose to go with 3400G. 5600G goes way above my budget. Even the 3400G is overpriced around 250$. Btw is there a performance difference between the green color rams and the fancy ones with heat sinks?

stock performance? little to none, green pcb rams are generic ones, depends on the manufacturer it could be colored as what they want. the heatsink rams are usually for their lineup that have xmp profile, no matter what's the speed is. it's better to go with the one that have heatsink like team dark za or klevv bolt x/xr that is rated at 3200mhz cl16 xmp rather than standard generic 3200mhz cl22 jedec, to squish out the performance more, since how ryzen works, they are faster if they use faster ram and smaller cl.

I'm planning to buy 3200mhz cl16 probably crossair , Asrock a320m , will it run at 3200mhz at default, 3400g supports only up to 3000mhz, but I have seen people running rams in 3200mhz. Also what is xmp, is that a ram thing or a motherboard thing. And i saw that xmp is for intel but how it works in and?

better off using a B450M motherboard, wont regret later.

XMP is xtreme memory profile, memory profile that are tuned better and faster then the jedec (standard) spec.
