Hi, I built my first rig a couple of months back and the specs are as follow
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 @3.8GHz
Motherboard: MSI Bazooka B350
Storage: 1x120 GB SSD | 2x1TB HDD
Memory: 2x8GB Apacer Bladefire 3000MHz
Fan: 5x120mm fans
GPU: GT 220 (planning to upgrade to gtx1050)
PSU: Deepcool DE500 350 Watt

Here's my problem with this build. 3 days ago, I tried to turn on my computer for the day to start working. It opens up the fans and all, but a few seconds (maybe 3-5 seconds) it stops and turns them back on continuing to windows login screen but I haven't experienced it again til now.

I'm a little worried about my power supply because that was the first thing I suspect to fail in my build, that was also the first time I encountered such behavior. Do I need to upgrade the PSU to at least 500w or something? If yes, what will you recommend? Would you still recommend the old Seasonic m12ii over the new focus gold?

Regards

Solution
The M12II 750W and up are in the same tier as the FOCUS Gold. The lower wattage units are 2 tiers below the FOCUS.

Well, that's a 300W power supply due to the +12V rail only having 25A for a total of 300W for your main components. But, that should be enough considering you have a GT 220. On the other hand, that power supply is very low quality. It would be a good idea to upgrade your PSU along with your GPU.

The new FOCUS Gold is a much better unit than the old M12II. But either would be worlds better than what you have.

Oh, I thought that is considered to be a 350 watt. Well, I calculated the total wattage including the keyboard, mouse and headset which are not on the list and the estimated result from the Seasonic wattage calculator is

Load Wattage: 292 W
Recommended PSU Wattage: 342 W

The current price of the Focus Gold compared to the old M2II is about $25 more. Is it worth the extra cost?

What recommended wattage would you recommend, the price of the Seasonic 650w Focus Gold is just about $3 more over the Seasonic Focus Gold 550w.

Yes, it is way cheaper. I just don't know why the Focus Gold sells that high and they even belong to the same PSU tier so it must have something special in it to justify the cost.

They should not be in the same tier any list that puts them in the same tier is flawed. The M12II is a good budget option but the Focus is easily a better PSU. The focus uses a newer better performing platform and is more efficient.

Oh, i didn't know that. I just based on the models. Thanks
