Yeah - 3dmark is not the greatest benchmark. It'll show if something is horribly wrong with your computer, but I wouldn't trust it for anything more than that. I was recently shocked the other way - my system with a single 4870x2 is now getting over 22k. Still, it's game performance that really matters, and that's what I would pay attention to.

+1 cjl. My cpu is used 90% for gaming .. 10% for web ... i do not encode, music-video edit and all other, My cpu is for GAMING. so 3dmark is a Gaming benchmark.

GamerXtreme started this tread about his Score with a 9800gtx+ and e E5200 score... that was low. his OC prove that a E5200 OCed can be MUCh better then a stock one. 8000 stock VS 12200 OCed ... its the hell of an imporvement.

My E6850 scored 13117 stock and 14549 OCed to 3.6, this only show that my CPU isnt the bottleneck here ... Same thing since i use 4g 800mhz 4-4-3-12 1T 20 mem timing. If i want better gaming Perf, i NEED to swap in a new GPU or Sli this 9800GTX+ SC.

I think that GamerXtreme score with his stock and OCed E5200 is OK. this show that a E5200 is slow and can be fast when OCed.

Thats a normal score for your setup description in 3Dmark06, so you don't really actually have a problem, you can increase that score by additionally OCing the 9800GTX.

I say OC the e5200 to 3.6GHz and the 9800gtx to 800/1200/2000. I got 14,415 last run with those settings, also mem at 900 5cas timings.

I got a E5200 on an X48 OC'd to 4.0ghz stable with a 9800GTX+OC from my other build...and in 3DMark 06 I scored 15510.. 😀 😀 😀

I got e5200 4ghz with termalright 120a 4870 video 4gb ddr2 800 corsair and cooler master gx 650w on asus p5q i got 15070 3dmarko6 score I think e5200 is realy great cpu even today :) for almost moneyfree 😀 i can max out almost any game so .... im happy with it :)
