Hi all. As you can tell I'm new to this forum so please forgive me for asking this question, I'm sure you've seen it a million times. But, my 3DMark06 score is very low compared to the ones I've seen.

Here it is (3DMark06 default settings):
SM2.0 = 2404
HDR/SM3.0 = 2580
CPU = 2282
Overall = 6145

I have my CCC settings at:

AA - 'Use Application Settings'
AF - 'Use Application Settings'
CAtalyst A.I - 'Standard'
Mipmap Detail - 'Performance'
Wait for vertical refreash - 'Always Off'
Adaptive AA - Unchecked

X2 6400+ @3.2 / 2 x 2GB G-skill ddr2 800 / HD3870 / ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe / 320GB 16mb HD / Vista64 / NZTX 600w

What do you think? Is the score normal for what I have?

Thanks much.

wow that is a low score. my diamond hd 3870 gets the score of 10,060

sm 2.0 is 4006
sm 3.0 is 4398
cpu score is 3246

maybe your card isnt getting enough power? maybe for some reason your card stays at 300mhz clock, instead of jumping to 776 mhz.

i have phenom 9500/msi k9a2 platinum/2gb ocz ddr2 800/ diamon hd 3870/500gb seagate 7200.11 gb/700 w oczy gamextreme psu /windows xp

Hmmm, That is quite low. Could be a power problem, but could also be a driver issue. Have you tried uninstalling the drivers for your video card, and then reinstalling the newest drivers from AMD/ATI's website?

I'm running an 8600gt and still beating your score...

SM 2.0 - 2684
SM 3.0 - 2441
CPU Score - 2337

Overall - 6315

AMD x2 BE 5000+ @ 3.3/ LP UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G / 2GB OCZ DDR2 800 / MSI 8600 GT OC / 2 74GB Raptor HDD - Raid 0 / 700 Watt OCZ PSU / Windows Vista 32 bit

The speeds of the card differ when in 2D and 3D, which is mainly for power and heat reasons. Try fixing the drivers by reinstalling them, or changing to an earlier version.

Try checking out your task manager. Close all the non-essential tasks. Power is important too, though. Your power supply might meet the min. specs. req. but the amps could be too low. Forcing it to stay at the lower freq. The CCC settings should be at defaults, and the internet should be disconnected. Re-connect to get your score though. Stupid new FutureMark thing. Check your bios settings for the PCI-E width/speed/etc. Also disable video bios caching, if it's on. Good Luck!

please explain Check your bios settings for the PCI-E width/speed/etc

here is my score
3DMark Score 13492 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 5656 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5466 Marks

ahh you just beat me, my score was:
3DMark Score 13425 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 6271 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5949 Marks
CPU Score 3184 Marks

but thats on a e6600 @ 3.5 and an XFX 8800gt @ 718 x 1006

Bios has settings under PCI-E... whatever, to change from 8x to 16x. You want 16x. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PCI-E SPEED from 100mhz. or AUTO to anything else. Best to just leave it @auto.

BTW - Your cpu score is normal. -total score should be- 10,100 (+/-) probably (-)
Roughly twice the numbers for your video scores.

that makes me angry, I cant get above 13.5 k and I have e8400 and BFG 8800GT 512

lol I got q6600 and 8800GT 512 and im moving in on the 16k area 😀

To the OP what are your temps like on GPU and CPU?

Press delete when your pc boots up. Once in the bios, explore the options and read the descriptions for them and look for PCI-E settings anywhere. Most motherboards have different bios setup formats. I always just look around for a while, or look in your mobo manual. Reminder... don't change the PCI-E speeds, just the lane width. (8x to 16x)
I get 11K+ but with one card it's closer to 10,050. Your cpu score is higher than mine too. I do use Vista x64 though. I could get another 1,200 points from using XP Pro x32. FYI - 4GB RAM is faster than 2GB RAM with Vista x64... hundreds of points faster.

I don't have the ability to change the PCI-E setting in my Bios.
