Here is my best at 3.6Ghz :

Ryan closed videl's thread so i decided to re-open 😉

Much appreciated :)

It appears as much, yup.

Update:
CPU @ 4.2ghz, NB @ 2800, Memory @ 1600/7-7-7-19-1T and both cards @ 800/1060 (with my AC directly blowing on the open case)

3dMark06: 24,157
3DMark Vantage: 17,216

I may be able to eek out a bit more by adjusting my OC through the FSB for higher memory speeds, but will have to sacrifice the timings a few notches to do so, and I don't want to retackle that beast anytime soon, hah.

I was able through some intense long hours and tinkering, was able to push out 3.92 on my cpu with my piece of crap board. basically it has limitations so baddd that i hate my self for buying the board. wont make the same mistake again.

I was able to crank 4.2Ghz out of my B50 on an msi790FX GD70...but it was not stable...
just enough to give me a cpuz verification to brag with lol...
Now I'm intensly waiting for the bulldozer...first version comming out in q1 of 2011...

I am also waiting for Bulldozer and 6xxx for my next build. Since it appears bulldozer will be am3+ and not usable on AM3 boards (though am3 chips will work on am3+ boards) it will be a ground up build. I already have a good fund saved towards it, and should be able to save a bunch more before then, as well as selling my current rig to help out. I am excited, as it will be my first complete ground up build in quite some time.

Nice notty! and jofamang,
same with me...it's also gonna be an almost ground up build...I said almost cause
I'm probably gonna use a couple of hard drives and a few other things like my graphics card until I can buy a new one...my gtx 280 is pissing me off a little...doesn't wanna overclock even when adding voltage....I'm guessing its just heat but it should oc at least a little bit...but when i do oc it just a little ibit I don't see any performance change and when I go higher the performance goes down...
overall it's not too bad of a card but I'll need a new one to pair with "the bull" lol...and until I can afford it I guess I'm gonna use the 280....

I am hoping to go full liquid with this one, but if the budget dictates a sacrifice in hardware to do so, will probably stick with something like the H70 on the CPU and keep the GPUs on air, with a great airflow case either way.

This is my best, i could not overclock the CPU any more and stable to run 3dmark06. I reached 3.9-3.92 and after i completed the half of the tests blue screen or computer restarts. The RAM are the biggest bottleneck in my system.

ionut, that a pretty nice score for the hardware you have...the cpu is whats capping your score though...if you had a better cpu paired with that graphics card you could get a higher score...but not too bad for a c2d...

....and scratch what I said earlier...lano is gonna be a notebook cpu...a phenom with integrated graphics core to be exact...if Im not mistaken....

That is true. Wish i had a quad now and 4gb of more overclock able RAM. I got these up to 960-970Mhz but i had to lower the speed because of stability.

Probably my next system will give me the option to overclock past 4Ghz with at list a quad CPU or depending on how the technology will evolve in 2 years, more cores..he he.

i have crossfire of 5770 vapor x , 1090t, 2 by 2gb 1600mhz ocz obsidian, thermal take psu 800w silver, 500gb 7200 rpm samsung hdd, its just when i use the 3dmark 06 im having a score of 16.7k on a single card while im having 16.2k on a crossfire...? i got no problem on vantage but in 06 why do my scores became low when in crossfire??..anyone

how come??

well even though its alittle late but here is my crappy scores for 3dmark 06 and vantage i got 18,025

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

The guy that posted above you has a dual video cards setup also and he did not get that many points in 3dmark06, same problem as you i think. I got with one 5770 and a core 2 duo at 3.4Ghz, above 14k on 3dmark06.

i have no clue i was thinkin i should have alittle higher score than that but oh well i guess

well xaigeta, you should be ably to overclock your q8300 a bit higher...
I got a pentium dual core from 2.5 to 3.8 easy and stable so you should be ablt to get a bit more on your q8300 because the pentium dual core was built off the core2 series cpus and mas stripped down of some cache and stuff to make it cheaper...

Anyways, I had a nice run with my phenom but plans changed and i'm not waiting for bulldozer as much now...I might still get it just not right away...
I upgraded to a l5640 and the power of that thing is amazing! really fun to oc too...
I'm still gonna keep my amd and put it in another case but now my main system is an intel.

My sig rig took a dump with a power surge, lost the CPU, Mobo, memory, 1 of my 6870s, SSD and PSU. Am currently in negotiations with the electric utility to replace my stuff, but they dont really seem to care. Had to dust off my dual core amd toshiba laptop (P320+ HD4200) to use the web. Srsly, hard times, just spend an assload on my car, have no funds to replace my shiz right now, lol.

Dang that sucks, lets hope the electric company gets some sense in their heads and decided to replace your hardware 😉 I hope things turn out well for you...

next time you get a nice build, get a surge protector for the tower...
