Hi everyone,

I'm pretty desperate as my 4 months PC is working soooo slow with my 3Ds Max software.
I working on several files and the largest one is 150mb.
I'm not even talking about rendering, just changing things like textures and stuff and the software gets stuck. Same thing happens with Sketchup as well.
All software are installed on the SSD Drive.
I also receive messages every now and then about the Nvidia Driver crashing and recovering.

Can anyone help me with this?
Could it be that my hardware doesn't work well with each other?
Can I do anything to make it work smoothly without getting stuck every 5 minutes?

PC specs are:
Win 10 Pro 64bit
Zalman H1 Case
MSI X99A Gaming Pro Moderboard
Nvidia M5000 Quadro
Intel i7-6950X
64GB Hyperx DDR4
Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB Drive
2TB Hard Drive
Zalman GVM 850 Power Supply

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks. I've already done that. I even reinstalled Windows.

Any other thoughts?

Just going by the specs you posted, I think you have a pretty great build for a rendering workstation. In theory, all of the parts, assuming everything is working correctly, should be compatible with each other.

Maybe you need to update the BIOS for your motherboard, as that CPU came out after the X99 motherboards did, so that is one possible avenue to check. Also in the BIOS, make sure everything is set correctly. Sometimes you may need to manually enable XMP for your RAM. It may just be a little setting for all we know that may be keeping the system from being stable. But I would start with the BIOS update no matter what.

Also, Im not sure if you are overclocking or not, but maybe set things back to the default settings and test. If not overclocking, ignore this.
