3rd Gen i5-3550S or 2nd Gen i7-2600S?

The i7 looks faster on paper but i5 is the latest gen. Thoughts?

You're comparing i5 to i7 and only a generation apart. The 2600 is without a doubt the better CPU, regardless of the slight performance gains with Ivy.
