4-DVI 1-card (i.e. X2 card) compatibility

I'm thinking about adding a sapphire radeon HD 4850 x2 GPU or a Asus EAH3870 X2 to my setup, which is a HP Pavilion Elite m9650f (specs). I have a PCIe x16 slot open, but I read in some reviews that the card also requires a 6- and 8-pin PCI Express power feed which I don't have (see this review); would i be able to power the card another way?

Also--just to check, even though these are dual GPU cards, they only take up a single PCIe x16 slot, right?
