[citation][nom]IndignantSkeptic[/nom]When are we going to get to the day that when we buy a game we can play it across all capable devices?[/citation]

I have one word for you my friend. "SteamPlay"

[citation][nom]JacekRing[/nom]I'll stick with win7 for now...will wait for win 9 and HOPE they add a start button.....[/citation]

Kind of sad when your computing use hinges around a start button so much so, that you seem incapable of using a computer without one.

[citation][nom]Sensi23[/nom]Oh yeah?"no AAA titles for Windows. So again, why bother with Windows8 or any MS OS device?" - belardoI may have dreamed that FUD, hmm? Or it is maybe you who have cognitive troubles.[/citation]

Or maybe "no AAA titles for Windows" refers specifically to the games included in the big f***ing list up there that this news post was about. You know, "Buy Windows 8 so you can play all these Xbox games! ...oh wait, these specific games are kind of terrible..."

Really Microsoft? Why would I buy games on my computer that I download, play for 5 minutes, and then uninstall on my phone?!

And we're losing the start button for crap like this?

This is going to make Vista look like Windows XP.......

Though this might make Ballmer lose his position so that would be worth it.

You can just spin the initial ludicrous and fallacious claim/lie into whatever else you want to see, if that can help you.
Now It would be silly to think that a software addition would magically allow you to play Xbox games on every devices running windows OS, without the relevant hardware -CPU, GPU, etc- capable to do so such a claim would simply be fraudulent and misleading advertising.

[citation][nom]belardo[/nom]WOW! Gears of War 2 and 3! Halo 3 and Halo 4 for Windows!! Yippie!!Oh... my bad. Just the usual $1~5 games... no AAA titles for Windows. So again, why bother with Windows8 or any MS OS device?[/citation]
I hate you. You got my hopes up for a second.

I was thinking that if you could play the real 360 games on windows 8 i might just get a copy and another HDD and duel boot so I could play madden on the PC but these games are trash. Why would I play games that I can play on my Android phone on my PC.

Porting, emulation, and more could allow you to play Xbox 360 games on any computer with Windows and they're just software. You wouldn't even need an Xbox 360 CPU, GPU, and other Xbox hardware to do it because that can all be emulated. A high performance computer today could manage it if MS decided to make such software.

Windows Game Pack II! I remember always playing all the old windows game pack back in the day. But that said several titles in that linup have been free with windows, are they going to start charging for them now?

lol i actually thought for a second there'd be Halo 3 or Reach in this list. Oh well.

Oh god, chill. He was talking about the list. Plus there was an element of sarcasm there too, which i think you missed.

[citation][nom]Sensi23[/nom]To the ignoramuses, intellectually dishonest people lying and spreading FUD about a lack of AAA PC games, here is a short list just for this fall:
Far Cry 3
Hitman: Absolution
Assassin's Creed III
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Medal of Honor Warfighte
retc
So yep, no AAA PC title at all, if one has to believe idiots and liars.[/citation]
To the ignoramuses, intellectually dishonest people lying and spreading FUD about Xbox exclusives being ported for Windows 8, there will be non in first wave. Each and every game you mentioned are being developed for PC and consoles at the same time. Gears of War 2/3/Judgment?

I would like to correct what I said earlier "What few AAA games we get are DRMed to death and *I WON'T BUY THEM*" - I should have added, I don't and did not pirate those games. I would have bought them, they look like something I would really enjoy. But when I beta-tested a game with SecuROM7 - it pissed me off. The game didn't work right and I had this crap on my PC running in the background...

So no... even when they had BioShock and Mirrors Edge on sale from Amazon for like $5 a pop... I was tempted, I looked into... still DRM garbage.

The DRM is stupid... as the pirated versions of those games have always been available. SO the only people who GET punished are the paying customers, not the pirates.

Only acceptable anti-pirate measure: a CD-Key during installation, it tells the server that you have a valid key. Game installs and works. Like UT2004 / UT3 / Supreme Commander, etc. Or Steam. But some EA games on Steam still have SecuROM7!

Screw YOU MICROSOFT! I'm getting a playstation 4. They helped kill PC gaming, why support MS?

Can't believe how many people are STILL complaining about the Start button (that's alll that is lost, a graphical start button, because it became a corner, and the start menu became useful by going fullscreen)

The game selection is good, and expected. If you want to see better games, is up to you as a customer: The more people buy Windows 8 and play the games on it, the more games that will show up, so vote with your wallet.

uh guys blazblue is in the list hello? that's one of the best fighting games in today's crop...

If you havent figured it out by now Microsoft doesnt care for the Home Desktop market. All they care about is selling their xbox console, and putting the words 'xbox' on everything.

The only reason windows its still being produced is because of the business market. Thats where windows makes its money on the pc desktops. As for home users and games, they just want you to buy an xbox.

MS makes plenty of money with consumer Windows. The business market (excluding server versions of Windows) probably makes less than the consumer considering that they tend to upgrade as rarely as they can.

I never said they didnt make money from it. Just that they dont care for it.

There is NO way I'm upgrading to the piece of crap that is Windows 8, ever. It's harder to use, less organised, more confusing, and now it won't run ANY of the good xbox titles. FAIL!
