Alright guys Im about to put the finishing touches on a Gaming build for a friend. This site has been a great help and source of knowledge to me so I figured I would toss the build up and see If there are any suggestions.

All periphials are already supplied.

Processor
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Windsor 2.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor $198
GPU
MSI RX1900XTX-VT2D512E Radeon X1900XTX 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 $276 after rebate!
RAM
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400 $217
Already purchased. But I have a question, how much better is the EPP class ram from Corsair. Putting it in noob terms: All it does is make overclocking the memory much easier by combining multiple processes into less options right?
Somone wanna inform me a little more on this?
HD
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s $94
PSU
Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply $78 after rebate
Motherboard
ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard $93
Will the motherboard be sufficient? He does not plan on going Crossfire but in the future when the need arrives plans on OC'in a little.
Or would this card be sufficient?
BIOSTAR TFORCE 550 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 550 MCP ATX AMD Motherboard $80
Is there anything that he will be missing out on by skimping a little on this mobo?

Not to shabby for a <$800 build
ok flame on for the AMD2 build :)
And thanks for the help!

I'm actually building a very similar machine -- same AMD 64 X2 4000 & Corsair RAM, but I chose a different Asus mobo. Where did you find the processor for $198?????

I'm going with the Asus Crosshair. Now, it is an expensive board, but it has everything I need and a good layout.

I also opted for the Western Digital RE 250GB 7200 rpm HDD. I looked hard at the new tech Seagates but the reviews say they run hot. The WD RE drives have a higher fault tollerance (my data is important to me).

Go with Asus, Biostar boards are horrible.

Change the RAM to CAS4 RAM. It will improve performance and give you better O/C headroom.

Good choice on the hard drive.

XTX cards are a waste of the extra money over the XTs. Downgrade to a 1900XT and overclock it.

to Gordy: ZipZoomFly has 'em for $198.

Good except I highly recommend not to get that motherboard. I had the same exact one and it died in months. Im not the only one either, check newegg and other sites.

Newegg reviews are pretty pointless, you can find horror stories on every board made. I have an Asus board die, and I still recommend them. For some of the experiences I have had with other brands from my years running a computer store, Asus is one of the best you can find.
