yeah! beat that

426.6667 @ 1024 x 768 x 32bit colour!

now all i have to do is find a monitor that can support that LOL
this was achieved on my leadteck geforce2pro (non overclocked) with Vsync OFF.
i belive it wouldnt go higher cauz ive reached the limit of what the RAMDAC can do 320Mhz or so.

as it stands i can do 2x2 ansitropy and still get 105 FSP. :)

LOL
I have to say, when I got my athlon/GF2mx I just HAD to try Q2 timedemo too, I remember when I was SOOOO impressed when I got a voodoo2 and got 30fps !!

i AM suprised however that it can do full 2x2 ansitropy at 1024x768 and still achieve 100+ fps.
2x2 ansitropy is basically rendering a screen 4 times the size then scaling down.
so all the edges are VERY crisp and smooth. YUM

now ive got a hankerin to play all the mission packs the way they should ahve been played! FAST.
also wanna see if i can get dukenukem3d to work as well :)

Antialiasing and Anisotropy are totally different things.

I'm impressed that you got 426fps. What processor are you using? Based on Tom's benchmarks, he only hit 129fps with a 1.33GHz Athlon and 134 with a 1.7GHz P4. You mention 2x2 anistropy...hmmm...sounds more like Anti-aliasing to me =) anistropy comes in flavors like 8-tap and 16-tap or more, I do believe.

Whoops, and I'm an idiot. I just realized you were talking about Quake 2, and not Q3. Heh heh. Anyhoo...how about that weather???

well there is a trick.
im using rivatuner and i set vsync to off (der)
maximum frame read ahead to 9 (thats the max i think)
that only gives me about 150fps, the trick is to enable TNT legacy mode ((or something like that). see im at work and workin from memory here.

ansitropy... antialiasing... why cant they give em easy to remember names?
anyhow, when i enable the TNT legacy mode (disabeling modern accel) i get a big enough boost that i can quite easily run Q2 using 1x2 or ever 2x2 antialiasing... and quake 2 was a great single player adventure.
shame there wasnt a d3d version.
oh yeah... now i remember. it was antialiasing. i found anistropy took 2-3 fps off.
