4460 with Asrock H87 Pro4 or H97 Pro4?

Hi, this is my first post. I am planning to buy a new PC for my software development. I wonder what is the difference of me buying Asrock H87 Pro4 over H97 Pro4? I have checked, both are compatible with Intel i5 4460

the h97 with a bios update will take the newer brodwell cpu when they drop. the x87 wont.

If no upgrade is expected for at least 3 years, is it worth to opt H97? I have just checked a bit and found out that this H97 got this "Full Spike Protection". Not sure just another gimmick
