my hp pavillion pc configuration is
PentiumD 820 (S) DC 2.8 GHz
800 MHz front side bus
motherboard name: Asterope2-GL8E
Chipset X200
2 GB DDR2 ram 667Mhz
Hard drive 160 GB SATA 7200 rpm
GeForce 7300LE 64 MB DDR memory
300W HIPRO smps +12V = 19 A

I am planning to run most of the fps and the rpg at 1280*1024 with 2xx or 4x AA on a 19" hp monitor like
last remnant, gears of war 2 stalker clear sky cod5,6 , fallout, crysis warhead, oblivion etc

will there be any bottlenecking problems with my cpu
should i go for palit , sapphire or powercolor etc?

here is link for 4670. does 512 mb and 1 gb make any difference?

go for the cheapest 4670 you can find, and no dont bother with the 1 gig version
I think the pentium D will bottleneck it by a bit ( just a guess tho overclock maybe?) but should run ok though

Its atleast a hell of an upgrade compared to the 7300

PS i just noticed the psu, So forget overclocking (if it was possible at all) since those pentium D's eat watt's a lot. Will b close call tho with that psu, and a 4670

I was lookign to do a minor upgrade and the 4670 has worked splendidly for me.

Will invest in one of the 4800 or 4900 series when I build my new rig.

won't 1gb give me more firepower for running more high quality settings. like AA. textures, object density, grass density etc
by the way is there any problms with palit cards

what about 1 gb 9500gt?
some people say that both the cards will give same performance without any major difference. so should i so with nvidia or ati?
if i lower my playing resolution to something like 1024x768 with 4xAA and all then do i need to change the smps

with that rig I think you will get best results on most of the more modern difficult game engines if you lower your resolution. You might still have to tweak the the game settings on some games. I would turn the AA off completely in Crysis and other really graphically challenging games. It doesn't matter how great a game looks if you can't get smooth frame rates. Just keep lowering everything until you can run smoothly.

Go for the 4670, its a bit faster then the 9500gt. I believe its about the same speed of an 9600GSO, But for its price the 4670 imo is a killer and low power conumption too.

do i need to change the smps or it will work fine
does power consumption of the gfx during games depends if i am using DX9 or DX 10

There's almost no situation where having a 9500gt with 1gb of memory makes any sense. In fact it should be avoided because the 1gb version always uses DDR2 memory and the DDR3 version of the card is better. At your intended resolution any card with over 512mbs is pointless actually.
But none of that matters as the HD4670 is a much better card. If you really prefer nvidia what you should be looking at in that price range is the 384/768mb version of the 9600 GSO but I doubt your PSU could handle it anyway.
