Hey guys,
i posted a few weeks ago on whether i should upgrade my intel i3 530 to an intel i3 4130 and most people said no, and that i should rather upgrade my gpu, but after getting a second job i've got more disposable income so I'm going to get both a new gpu and cpu
im considering either getting a 4670k or an Xeon 1230 v2, newer version of xeon's aren't sold in Iceland, so i would have to import it, which is a bit out of my price range
i do a lot of 3d work, mostly in Houdini and Blender so good performance and fast render times are very important, but that would probably come down to the gpu, but its worth mentioning
i also have to encode all of my stuff, so fast encoding times are a must,
i do occasionally run servers, but only in a client environment, ("W7 and ubuntu") rather than a dedicated server os
I do play a lot of games, but i don't give a shit about graphics, if i can run most games in 1680 x 1050 at 60+ frames, I'm happy
