I have my 4790k Running at 4.8Ghz with 1.3v and im currently getting around 75-80c while running P95, is this ok? or would it be a good idea to low my OC down slightly as ive heard running a cpu at 1.3v isnt the best idea, need some thoughts

Thanks

only 200MHZ less and u run it quieter? lol hell yeah i would go for that

i have 2 OC profiles on my IVY 1.3V 5GHZ OC and 4.5MHZ OC @ 1.2~

i also have my Vapor-X 7950 @ 1300/1900 and i cant notice anything going to 5GHZ from 4.5GHZ unless im playing Dayz LOL

and well haswell is at least 10% faster than ivy clock for clock so yah i would go for 4.6GHZ low voltage less temp lower fan noise

and make sure the CPU never goes above 80C for gaming u want it to last at least 5 years 24/7

MAX safe temp is 1.3V or 1.35V if the temps are cold

max safe temp is 80C for 24/7 if u want to live long

thermal throttle temp @ 105C / shut down @ 125C~ for 22NM CPU
In my opinion is that do overclock only when its really needed. If your GPU is not bottlenecked by your CPU then their is no need to push. When time passes and you suddenly find a few new games starting to bottleneck by your CPU little bit, then up the frequency say a 200 Mhz should solve the bottleneck completely. That is upping the frequency by 200mhz or so Only when its really required. By this way your system will last for a long time.

My 5 year old i5 750 @ 3.6 Ghz now, still kicking. No bottlenecking in any of the current games with my 7950 Vapor X OCed
