Hey all,

I recently upgraded a few parts in my computer and reformatted. My current specs are as follows:

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHZ (OC to 3.0GHZ and can push it further if needed)
Mobo - Asus P5w DH Deluxe
RAM - 4 GB (2 x 2GB) G.Skill DDR2 800 5-5-5-15
HDD - WD Raptor 120GB
GPU - HIS HD4870 1GB GDDR5 (770/1000 I believe)
PSU - OCZ 480w (Can't remember more about it. It was pretty nice when I bought it forever and a day ago)
OS - Microsoft Windows Vista 32 bit with all updates

I am running the newest drivers and catalyst control center for the video card. I reformatted about 2 weeks ago.

My performance hasn't really been very good. I would think this setup should rip through EQ2, but Instead I am only getting something like 30 FPS on High or Very High performance mode. In CS:S, I am getting anywhere from 70-130 FPS with the graphics turned down. I understand that you don't need more than that, but I figure this system should be capable of more than that. Also, if I run EQ2 in windowed mode, my FPS drops to around 20 or lower.

I ran 3dMark06 and my score was aroud 12k (can check when I get home) which isn't too bad. What could be holding my computer up like this? Is it possible that my PSU is slowing it? If so, is there a program that I can use to check to make sure everything is getting enough power?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I see all the reviews of people using this card stating that they are tearing up this and that game on max settings and I would love to join that party. Thanks.

P.S. - I run all of my games at 1680 x 1050.

Here's an update. I uninstalled the ATi drivers and it actually seemed to work better without them. I was getting better frame rates. I tried installing a couple of older drivers and they both seemed to hurt my frame rate. This is quite strange.

My VGA is not OC'd by me (it comes OC'd to 770/1000 though). I haven't tested Crysis or FarCry2, but have run CS:S and it wasn't performing as it ought in that game either.

I'll mess with it some more this evening when I am home. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
