it is way too expensive to play demanding games at 4k and have fps as high as 140, you would need multiple high end cards to do that.

so what do u think is better more fps or higher resolution?

If you check this article for example...
I'd say it comes down to your personal preferences and what type of games you play. For competetive multiplayer FPS you'd definitely want to go for as much FPS as you can get, on the other hand for mostly single player you might find 4k more appealing. There's no single thruth in this, each has their own preferences and needs. And you need to find the best option for your budget.

Yeah honestly I love fps, anything lower than 60 fps seriously makes gameplay less enjoyable and i guess there are resolutions inbetween 1980 and 3840. so finding a compromise would be ideal here.

what do u think is the highest resolution say a 1060/1070/1080 can get with atleast 120fps in demanding games?

If you check this article for example

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Performance_Analysis/Sniper_Elite_4/4.html

You can see that a single GTX 1080 gets around 115 fps average at 1080P and 82 at 1440P, this depends a lot on the game you are running ofc. And you can tweak this with aa settings etc. But for a constant 120+ fps at 1440P you'd propably need a dual GTX 1080 or Titan X (or the upcoming GTX 1080 ti/AMD Vega).

Edit. Check performance reviews for the games you are playing.
