Hi,
I've bought a 4k TV to use as my primary monitor since I'm a developer I thought the extra screen size would be great. Everything is set up but I still have a couple of annoying issues I can't seem to solve. Note, all drivers are up to date, firmware of the TV is up to date and Nvidia drivers as well.
TV: LG 42ub820v
CPU: Intel I7 4790
RAM: 32 GB DDR3
GPU: MSI GTX 970
OS: WIndows 8.1
1. Flickering, this is not the normal type of screen flickering but only things like the Task Manager, certain windows, drop down boxes, UI kinda stuff. Movies and Games work great without a single flicker. I can fix this issue by changing the refresh rate to 30 HZ but that makes the mouse pointer feel slow, anything above 30 causes this strange flicker. 50, 59, 60 hz. (I'm using a High Speed HDMI cable)
2. Overscan, There seems to be an overscan of 10-20 pixels on all sides except the top. Setting option "Aspect ratio" to "Just Scan" on my TV allows me to fix it when booting but once windows loads the option is disabled and I can't adjust it so it also uses "Just scan". Kinda odd.
3. Blurry text, This is the least of my issues since it's probably related to the overscan and stretching. Already tried changing the sharpness and using ClearType.
Overall, I tried all possible options disabling all filters I could find but I'm not sure what I should look for.
If you have any further questions do not hesitate to ask.
