Welcome to the Spring 2019 Best PC Builds Competition! For over two decades Tom's Hardware has brought you news and reviews of the latest in PC hardware, while the famous forum has grown to more than 2 million members. Because of their expertise and the constant requests for help with PC builds, our members have developed a talent for finding the best prices and putting together the best system builds.

This thread is for the $5,000 Ultimate Everything RGB Build budget category. We're looking for builds featuring top of the line components, and fully decked out with RGB LEDs. Please only submit builds within the $5,000 budget category to this thread. All other builds will be disqualified.

Submissions will be accepted over the next 2 weeks.

Please make sure to follow the ground rules below. Any builds over budget will be disqualified.

Here are the ground rules:
  • Only one build per budget category, per user. Multiple builds from a single user or duplicate accounts will be disqualified.
  • Do not go over budget.
  • Use only Amazon AND/OR Newegg to source parts.
  • DO NOT USE Amazon 3rd Party Sellers or Newegg Business to source parts.
  • Use list prices only: coupons, rebates, bundles or any other limited-time offers will not be accepted.
  • Do not include shipping or tax in your final budget.
  • Do not include the Operating System, Monitor or VR Headset, Keyboard, Mouse or Gamepad.
  • All builds must have a name.
  • Do not put your forum handle in the name of your build, and avoid odd capitalizations & symbols.
  • Provide links to the Amazon and/or Newegg product pages of each component — we encourage users to use PCPartPicker's System Build for speedy construction. Do not post a link to your build, but rather please be sure to export as BBCode for a quick copy/paste to the forums:

Gaming, streaming, and content creation all in one small package. PCPP's incompatibility flags are wrong.

It took a long while to get the parts sorted out and in compatibility mode. PCPartPicker isn't exactly listing all parts on their database. Newegg and Amazon have their fair share of mis-labelled parts on their site so some cross-referencing was needed with SKU's on parent/manufacturer site. On the note about the watercooling loop, the build does not have aluminium and nickel plated copper being mixed on one loop. In fact it's an all nickel plated copper loop with copper in the radiator's internal construction. I didn't include the coolant since you can pick up distilled water from the grocery or a laboratory supply/depot/retailer for almost nothing. I added the longer tube reservoir to help with adding volume inside the case in terms of components. If people feel that they can/want to make do with the res that's bundled with the pump, then the spare money can be dropped onto a mechanical HDD or another SSD. 4 fans for a push only setup but that shouldn't hamper thermals due to the thickness of both radiators employed for this build.

This is a monster workstation for getting major work done. Its overkill for most games:

32-core Threadripper CPU. 128 GB of RAM. RTX 2080ti with 3 RGB fans, Watercooled CPU, a relatively inexpensive case, but with a nice aesthetic white and RGB look. a 2TB M.2280 SSD and a 8TB spinny drive leaves plenty of storage for media and games. 750W 80+ gold Antec PSU for overclocking headroom.

With 8 RBG Memory sticks, and RGB lights on the case, CPU Cooler, and GPU, this PC will be a rave party on the inside.

Looks as good as it sounds.

The Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB is one of the cleanest looking cases I've ever seen. It comes with 3 x 120mm Corsair RGB fans and a Lighting Node Pro. The extra 3 fans I've added are 1 - to replace the rear non RGB fan that comes with the case and 2 - for the bottom of the case. The H115i RGB will top mount giving the case a full 8 Corsair RGB fans in front, top, rear and bottom mounts.

RGB case? Check. RGB cooler? Check. RGB Motherboard? Check. RGB RAM? Check. RGB Graphics card? Check. RGB soundcard?? Check

A second 2080 Ti for SLI? Nah, how about 4k 60FPS for your ears instead! The DT1990 Pros are one of the cheapest headphones that can truly be called Hi-Fi. They even come with 2 sets of pads each with a distinct sound profile. Need precise imaging for gaming? Check. Want a more 'fun' sound for music? Check.

All of your submissions seems to be good contenders for The Best Build in this category however I'd like to remind everyone submitting, if in doubt, to re-read the rules posted in the Opening Post and tweak your submissions. Notable tasks by some of you, would be to change parts with relevant links(adhering to the rules) and also to stick to Amazon and/or Newegg, mixing and matching both if you think it helps. Again, re-read the rules and all shall be clear. The rules also stipulate grounds for disqualification.

Please understand that we want all of your submissions to go through, at the very least to fall on the eyes of the Juror's. That being said, keep em coming!

This machine has the required glow (multiple RGB Fans), and combines the fastest parts available. I thought about SLI/Crossfire, but not all applications benefit from multiple cards. The SilverArrow allows for [PBO] overclocking beyond 4GHz, and the Single Rank Samsung B-die memory is also very overclockable (search "DRAM Calculator" by 1usmus for hints). The Optane drive is obviously for the OS and is faster than the Samsung 970 pro.

Named for the killer shark, this build is inspired by one that is at my local Micro Center and is an absolute beast based around Corsair's dual system capable 1000D, a full dual EK water block custom loop with all the fixings and trimmings, no less than a full dozen Corsair LL RGB fans (8 in the front, 3 intake, and 1 exhaust), and if you want RGB, you got RGB!
