So I just built my pc and I just checked my pc properties and says 5.95 gb usable out of 8gb usable. Can anyone help me
Mobo: asrock b250m-hdv
CPU: intel pentium g4560
Your CPU is going to reserve some RAM for the video built-into the CPU. You may be able to limit how much in the BIOS. 2GB for video is a little much but not totally unreasonable.

im pretty sure it might be windows ram allocation. have you tried checking it in msconfig? to run msconfig here what you need to do: 1.windows+r, 2.type msconfig, then press ok/ hit enter, 3.go to boot section, 4. click advanced options. try to tick the maximum ram and enter the amount of ram you have installed, dont forget to apply all settings. ask me if it is not working
I had the same issue, i started noticing frame drops and lags in my games, that's when i checked that the available RAM had dropped down to 5.9 GB from 7.4( usually this much is available out of 8 gigs).
Fix :
I booted into my BIOS and disabled hardware VX and booted the OS.
It worked.
Please, let's not necro threads for the purpose of noting something which isn't even quite obviously the same problem; there are a lot of reasons to not have all the RAM available.
