[citation][nom]ragnar-kon[/nom]My biggest wish (assuming I ever think about buying a smart phone, let alone an iPhone):A different carrier than AT&T. No point in having a cell phone if it loses signal as soon as I step into a building.[/citation]
Looks like you get your wish:

Although I know several people who run iphone on T Mobile. Jailbreak is a major enhancement for iphone regardless of whether or not you're switching carriers.

It is apple and I think that the idea of better screen res just wont happen. The iphone hd is a good name since 4g would just be stupid if it came out this summer considering at&ts network. Would be nice to get oled though.

It needs something a lot faster than an A4 not just a derivative A3. A dual core A4 or at least 1.3-1.5ghz would be desirable and truely set apple apart for at least another year. The ipad is still much slower than a netbook on 802.11n at surfing the net than a good netbook.

Price is too expensive in general because of comparison to an ipod touch. I mean an ipod touch 199 and an iphone 3gs runs 599 without a service contract and no one can put that together with the 199 plus service contract. But $599 is not much worse than the superior nexus one.

What apple has going for it is the user library. There aren't many people who could just jump over to android and be happy from the simplicity and polish of the iphone os (not that anyone reading this couldn't though but you don't count).

Honestly I personaly just want a really really fast phone and would pay an extra 200 bucks to get it. Id pay 399 and sign a contract if it was just an iphone 3GSS with os 4.0 and a dual core 1.5 ghz A4 and be very happy.

1. Carrier independent - totally unlocked
2. State of art audio support (hardware, advanced EQ, native lossless formats; FLAC and the rest)
3. 2x microSD card
4. latest wireless support
5. solar, static charging.

I guess Jobs is not that smart :sarcastic:

In my stupid opinion Apple should make iPhone and sell it without any pay plans, like they just recently decided to do with old iPhones :) that would be really cool :)

They could pretty much put anything they want into it and I still wouldn't buy it, I'm a perpetual tinkerer and I love my droid, recently put Smoked Glass V6.0 with a mild overclock and it is fantastic.

Firefox says hi. The money in your wallet says goodbye, lol

I agree with your point, but FF is not the best browser out there (Chrome, Opera).

Not sure if Chrome and Opera are open source? "Best" is of course subjective, Chrome is fastest, but If I could only have one browser forever I'd choose Firefox for the massive library of extensions and customization, no idea about Opera never used it.

Chrome is a much better browser than FF and if it was as well supported I would run it exclusively. Unfortunately it is still new and not all sites support it.

Guys be on noticed that the iPhone 4g is still a rumor! I do not understand why Apple has never announced it's upcoming... So they can actually cancel the prototype! Besides many people are buying the iPhone 3G-S. Just imagine if someone OUT of US bought the 3G-S... Don't you think he'll be frustrated a bit when he hear a new 4G phone has been released when it only has been 2 months?!Please REPLAY!!

"Replaceable battery is moot. Not once in ~10 years of owning cell phones have I ever replaced a battery. Not once. People keep complaining about this but no one will actually use it. If you really need the extra battery buy a case that has a battery, they make them. I too would like to see a micro SD card slot but I just don't see it happening. No one would buy higher capacity models. "

Uh you must have some powerful phone because some phones I used, I loved dearly, but their battery die after a year or two if you talk on it a lot. So to say it's something no one uses and that you 'never replaced the battery', is just like saying your laptop battery doesn't slowly degrade (which is does) and it does need replacement. You probably never replaced a phone battery because you get a new phone all the time, but not everyone can spare another $200+ (retail) for a newer model of an iPhone if you don't use AT&T, or have the time to bring or send the phone to Apple.

And of course no one would buy higher capacity models, because there's microSD.. what would be the point of making so many models? You could buy a 100kb model and use like a 50GB card on it.

[citation][nom]tosvus[/nom]I have the iPhone3G but I'll be looking at Android if it is going to support Flash. I'm tired of not getting the content I expect when surfing on the phone..[/citation]

Agreed. I was going on 6 years with original battery until my Treo 650 bit the dust today. Been waiting for GSM availability of the Palm Pre+ but don't have much faith in HP to continue the "Palm Zen" of simplicity. As for the battery issue, I have charged my battery no more than once per week and original one is still was still going strong till screen died after 5+ years of use.....never heard of someone actually replacing a battery other than to upgrade to a bigger one.

I have a blackberry pearl and am looking to switch to the iphone 4 when it comes out.... there is a much greater purpose to removable batteries then switching them when they die. REBOOTING! My blackberry glitches on me all the time. The hourglass pops up for 20 minutes to an hour so i just remove the battery and reboot it. It might not be good for the phone but i dont really care. Whats the point of have an unresponsive phone?
