Greetings,

I just bought an ASUS TUF 5080 and tested it for ROP counts, benchmarks etc. and I didn't encounter any type of misbehaviour. Last night I start Cyberpunk 2077 and at main menu GPU starts clicking sounds.

I checked around GPU and case and there aren't any cables or something like that to make that kind of sound. Also It only happens when I sit on CP77 main menu or V's inventory. If you got any idea about it please share with me. Also sorry for my bad grammar.

Thanks.

What are the framerates while in the menus and inventory?

So sorry for necro but I realize that sound is not coming from GPU but it comes from PSU and it still happens time to time on some games even if I use fps cap. Any idea?

Greetings.

On 16.11.2024, I purchased an FSP Hydro PTM PRO 1650W 80+ Platinium ATX3.1 Gen 5 model power supply.

The power supply I bought for my newly assembled case has been making an arc jump sound at ridiculous times since then, and while it is making a sound, it turns on and off the sensor light connected to the main line in the shoe cabinet of the house.

I first noticed that it was doing it in Cyberpunk 2077 when the inventory was open.
After that, I witnessed it making a sound in other games and in Unity in scenes with a lot of interface elements however, when it makes a sound, neither the GPU/CPU usage nor the voltage values are high. The electrician who came to the house replaced the relays with higher amperage ones, but the problem did not go away.

When the problem was not solved, I continued using it like this, but today I noticed that while watching videos on YouTube, there is no sound at 720p and 1440p and the GPU usage is around 4-5%, at 1080p the GPU usage jumps to 35-40% and the sound I mentioned above starts again.
If anyone has information or the slightest idea, please share, I'm about to lose my mind.

Coil whine can manifest as a clicking sound, whining, or growling/squealing. And some PSUs have internal relays, though you shouldn't be hearing that during operation, only when coming out of standby.

At certain load levels the PSU may just make some noise. If it is still in a fanless mode and the rest of the system is quiet it may be easily audible.

Mouse movement causes coil whine in my current desktop and my laptop does it too oddly.

My old GTX980 SLI setup used to cause serious coil whine, sounded like a motorcycle revving up as the FPS darted up and down.

Thank you for response. I know how coil whine sounds this is more likely a arc sound like a lighter click. Also I get coil whine time to time but this noise is so much worse and higher than coil whine.
