Question 5700x3D only works in single channel but not dual.

Built a pc with a 5700x3d b550 tomahawk and 3600cl14 ram. It only posted with ram in slots A1 and A2. I have tried all slots alone and no B channel boots. I did update the bios and saw no bent pins. Since building it i have taken it apart and returned the mobo and got a new one. Did see a post about the 5700x3d having a bad memory controller. I do have a 5700x non 3d that worked in a previous system with that ram.

The pc does not boot with any ram stick in B1 and B2

Sounds like it might be a bad memory controller\ channel.

This is the second 5700x3d ive had and both had the same issue. I might just use my 5700x non 3d and oc it.

Run the RAM in its default (non-XMP / DOCP) profile. Does it boot with slot B2 populated?

did have the ram default. It does not boot and the cpu debug light is on

Cleared the CMOS?

To confirm: you have had two X3Ds and two mobos and the issue persists through these?

RMA them again.

I returned the first X3d and new mobo replacement comes tomorrow have not tested yet/

Ah, I see. Hopefully that will see the end of the issues you have been having.

At this point I am ready to return the x3d back and get my money back and just use the non 3d chip. Troubleshooting has been dreadful when this issue is only for 5000 x3d chips

Could just be bad luck. Unless the return window is coming up imminently, I'd hold on until tomorrow for that replacement mobo.
