Built a pc with a 5700x3d b550 tomahawk and 3600cl14 ram. It only posted with ram in slots A1 and A2. I have tried all slots alone and no B channel boots. I did update the bios and saw no bent pins. Since building it i have taken it apart and returned the mobo and got a new one. Did see a post about the 5700x3d having a bad memory controller. I do have a 5700x non 3d that worked in a previous system with that ram.

Possibly a bad memory controller. Refund that CPU

I do have to return it before a certain time since i have a statement to pay with that cpu on it. My patience is thin now from the last time i build my pc and taken it apart twice.
I have a 5800X3D and Gskill cl14 3600 MT/s RAM and also had issues using A1 and B1 at first. My kit is a 4x8gb kit though. A BIOS update fixed my issue. I am on the ROG X570-f board from ASUS. LMK if you have and pointed questions since we have similar enough builds.

Did do a bios update and no luck. I am using 2x16gb sticks
You should do a mem test with each stick in slot A2. Maybe you have a bad stick that you put in slot B2 with both CPUs. Does the PC boot with both sticks in slot A2? Does the system boot with the stick you know for a fact works in all slots or just A1/A2? If that's the case it would seem the motherboards B1/B2 pathtraces are damaged. Another thing to look at would be the motherboard CPU pins. If you have a bent or damaged pin in the right spot it can cause these kinds of issues!

These sticks were in a previous system over I took them out and put them in the new build. The cpu pins are not bent. I am just going to get a cpu refund and put a 5700x non 3d in the new mobo when it arrives. As for the system i took apart the stick only worked in a1/a2 only.
