570gtx display problem

Hey guys I have an issue that has me completely stumped.... Ok so I just put together a new pc with two gigabyte 570 gtx's in SLI. Now my problem is the second card gives no display (and no lights come up on the card, whereas the first does). However the fans on the card are running.

But this is where it gets strange. I thought it could be an issue with the PSU (silent pro 1000w) o the mobo pcie slot (asrock extreme 7 Gen 3), so I took the card running in pcie_1 (that displays fine) out, put the second card in the same slot (pcie_1) by itself ( so no sli) with the same cables, BAM no display.

So I'm thinking it's a power fault with the card. So I send it back. Tests are run without issue. They send to the manufacturer, same deal.

So at this point I have NO IDEA what the he'll could be wrong. The other card is running fine. But this card with the same power cables / mobo slot, that apparently has no power issues wont display....

Can anyone help me out?

System:
i7 2500k
Asrock extreme 7 Gen 3 mobo
8gb ddr3 1600 ram
2 (or rather 1 atm) gigabyte 570GTX super OC
Silent Pro 1000w PSU

Hey mate,

As stated in the OP, yeah the fans do run. The card has been plugged into pcie_4 I think it was (default slot for the second card for sli) and then pcie_1 by itself. Same issue both times (had a second monitor plugged into it when testing the sli)

do you use a molex adapter ( 4pin to 6+2pin PCIE ) or you plug the 6 & 8 pin PCIE directly from the PSU ?
have you tried installing the GPU in a different PC ?
