575$ Skylake upgrade

i want to upgrade to skylake!
The components i am keeping:
XFX / ProSeries 450W
EVGA / GeForce GTX 960 - SuperSC ACX 2.0+ - 2GB GDDR5
Seagate / 1TB SATA HDD
BitFenix / Shinobi

I need help with the motherboard and ram..
i want a 6700k + mobo + Ram for $575

Eh.... Save some $$$, upgrade the GPU first. That thing is in no condition to deal with an i7-6700K at 4K resolutions, but i7 is overpowered for 1080P.

6700k is way overpriced right now. Almost at $400 alone. You'd need to raise the budget unless you want uber cheap motherboard and RAM. As it has been said, your other components need some work. I hope you have an SSD as well. That'll give you a huge speed upgrade.

The GPU is fine and quite new, probably deliberately bought for his gaming purposes, an GPU upgrade to play games as League of Legends will be overkill. If he could tell us for what purpose you want to upgrade to skylake we could perhaps provide him better alternative upgrade options.

i mainly stream csgo so i do not need an gpu upgrade... how much money do i need to save for me to be able to upgrade to Skylake?

if you cant be bothered or don't feel comfortable overclocking a CPU then you can go for a Xeon 1231 V3 if you want to overclock then a good Z97 mobo + a i7-4790k maybe the best thing for you to get at the moment.

The 4790k is an excellent CPU. You'll only see a 1-2% difference between it and the 6700k in games. Given that it's much cheaper I would definitely go for it.
