5850 Question

Would it be worth it to get a 5850? My monitor resolution is 1280x1024.

Probably not. What are the rest of your system specs?

No. For your resolution, a single 5770 for $150 would max out almost every game.

Not really. An HD5770 for half the price should be incredible for that resolution. I'd only consider the HD5850 if you plan on upgrading your monitor to 1920x1080 or above in the not too distant future.

As Jay said, if you plan your monitor to 1680x1050/1920x1080 within a year, get the 5850. Otherwise, an HD5770 would max everything.

1680x1050? Yeah, the HD5850 will be fine. It'll max most everything, and you'll be fine for a couple of years.

The HD5770 would also be very good for 1680x1050 if you want something cheaper.
