Good afternoon everyone,

I have an issue with my PC. I run all my games at 70+ FPS, but for some reason, the gameplay feels like 30. I'll share the specs, feel free to suggest anything and everything. This has been a thing on my PC's for the last few years. Never managed to fix it.

PC Specs:

MOBO: ASUS PRIME H510M-K
CPU: Intel Core i5 10400F @2.90GHz
GPU: RTX 3060 12GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz
SSD: 500GB
PSU: 700w Zeus ZUS-700
OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (Tried all versions, 23H2, 24H2)

All my drivers are up to date, chipset drivers as well. Tried with XMP on/off, still the same.

This can be a symptom of DLSS and other frame generation technology. The screen might show some high FPS number but it still feels laggy. This is the one I always shake my head at the people that are only concerned about the magic FPS number in the corner rather than how well the game looks and feels.

I would start with the simple thing. Load the windows resource monitor and see if anything is hitting maximum usage. I would check the memory first since 16GB it not a lot in modern games if you have other stuff running in the background.

There are more advanced tools like hwinfo or msi after burner that will show in detail what resources are in use.

I would check that you are not running any of the screen capture stuff from either steam or nvidia. Nvidia just recently made the news for being stupid and hurting performance with their new APP that most people don't want in the first place. This was the older geforce experience that I recommend people uninstall and only use just the drivers.

After this it is a try to turn off/reduce video setting one at a time and see if any make a difference. I don't know if your card is new enough to support a lot of the new DLSS features but you have to be very careful about what exact options you use.
