I selled one of my livers.

- CPU: I7 8700k
- GPU: MSI RTX 2070
- Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 (16 gb, 3200 mhz)
- Motherboard: MSI Z370-A PRO
- Power: Corsair CMPSU-1000HX 1000W
- Cooler: be quiet! DARK ROCK PRO 4
Only for games.

Questions:
- Is this good? Will i be able to play 1440p 60fps cyberpunk 2077 all ultra for example?
- Should i choose another motherboard and for what purpose?
- Should i buy another power supply, if this one is old (about 3-4 years) and which one?
- I7 8700k or 8700?
- What about overclocking, is this necessary? Will this affect component's lifetime?
- What about 4k, if i will decide to buy 2080 ti.

A few points:

The 8700K is a fantastic CPU that overclocks very well with little to no effort and 4.7GHz all core out of the box with the standard MCE settings in BIOS. Though manual overclocking will get you to 4.9/5GHz with not too much effort. I have mine at 4.9GHz at 1.278v which was easily achievable. more importantly you do get a nice little performance boost.

On the motherboard, I would definitely go the Z390 route rather than Z370 as the Z390 is newer and will allow you to upgrade the CPU in the future to the 9th Gen 9900K when and if it ever drops in price or you could sell a kidney this time.......As to a good option, the Gigabyte Z390 Elite is on the mid range but has a great 12 phase vrm!!! Also an option on MSI the MSI Z390 A Pro at only $129.99

The power supply you have is way more than good enough...But idf you want to upgrade, there is nothing better than the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold from 750w upowards and they are very cost effective.

Finally on 4K, the RTX 2080 will do a fantastic job on 1440p 60FPS all day long and higher and will also handle 4K but not at the highest FPS but still good. The RTX 2080Ti is the ultimate for 4K but boy is it expensive...

Hope this helps..

Someone deleted his post about change processor to i5 9700k and videocard to gtx 1080, why? It looks like a good option for me, am i wrong? msi Z390 pro + i5 9700k + msi gtx 1080 armor.

I deleted it because I thought you had already purchased the items in the OP. I didn't want you to feel bad :)

Don't forget the 8700K has 6 cores and 12 threads where as the 9600K is 6 cores and 6 threads. The 8700K for me (personal opinion) is just the better bet as it is as fast as the 9600K and has a bit more muscle on the additional threads...

You have provided all the options one could want....Still, that is quiet a bit of a difference between the 8700K and the 9600K..nearly a $100...that's quiet a lot...The 9600K is looking better...

If you have a 1440p monitor at 120hz, you're going to want to match the refresh rate with the FPS generated from the graphics card (at least come close to it for a smooth experience). You don't need high IPC of Intel to accomplish this at 1440p or higher resolution. The higher the resolution the more the graphics card becomes the limiting factor. Higher core count and hyperthreading is what will give the system better longevity before the CPU is the limiting factor. That being said, this is what i'd do if I were the OP:

It's all about shifting the performance where it is needed. If you had a 1080p monitor, i'd say yes go with Intel options posted above for the higher IPC.

"I didn't want you to feel bad :)" oh, this is cute )

For now i have 1080p 120hz, still looking for good 1440p 120hz monitor.
I don't want to buy amd for some reasons, so, if i'm not missing something, I can choose between i7-8700k/i5-9600K and gtx 1080/1080 ti and use it with my Corsair 1000W (because i already have it, so...)

Final question, what is difference between MSI - MAG Z390 TOMAHAWK and MSI Z390-A PRO except 25$? )

Oh and i forgot, 2070 actually. It costs 620$ (1080 ti about 800)
