650w gold or 750w bronze

i5 4670k and an r9 290 (probably sapphire), both to be overclocked.

Should I go for a 650w gold or a 750w bronze for the psu?

Gold and bronze only tell you how efficient the PSU is, not how good quality. What PSUs are we talking about?

They will both essentially perform the same function. The gold one would use slightly less power and generate slightly less heat, so as long as they are pretty much the same price I would go for that one.

Are you going to do any dual cards later? 650w should be enough if not. Antec/Seasonic/XFX are the brands to go with most times.

My choice would be the 80+ gold one cuz it's fully modular

Actually, the XFX 550W Core Edition (80+ Bronze) is considered better than the Corsair RM 550 (80+ Gold).

This is because the RM uses bad capacitors that fail more than quality capacitors should and may cause some heat issues. So efficiency is not always related to the quality of the PSU.
