Hi all.

I've got an NVida 6600 GT AGP and it's been running just a bit warm with the stock heatsink and fan. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a cooling solution for it. I've been looking for almost a week and I have yet to find a cooler that says it will expressly support my model of card. I don't want to make the wrong decision and have all the problems that go with it. Any help from the gurus would be much appreciated.

I believe Zalman makes a nice cooler.

The VF700-cu performs well on the 6600gt

Yeah. I read that when I was looking it up... The two Zalman coolers I found that were compatible came with the disclaimer: "This may cause structural instability" in the AGP version of the card. The Zalman cooler was apparently designed with the PCI-Express version of the card in mind. The GPU apparently sets closer to the top of the board in the AGP model. Thanks a lot. :)

Just a sidenote, those 6600GT are amazing overclockers, the core defaults at 500mhz, i took a friend's core to 697, just under 700mhz. That was with a waterblock with a 80watt peltier though.

I agree with your recommendation. I put the Iceberq 5 on my XFX 6600GT AGP and am very happy with it. It dropped my load temperatures from 68C to 56C and is much quieter than the original fan.

The spec does not say that it fits this card and yet it does perfectly. There is no discernable impact to the PCB.
