The point you keep sidestepping is that no matter what you think

Difference is I never said it was a nice word. I said that it means
cowardly, at least that is my definition of it. Now what he did is wrong
according to Blizzard, all I am saying is does he deserve a ban? I
personally don't think so, a warning would have been enough. End of
discussion.

For swearing... *shrug* Depends on the circumstances.

For using Dewdspeak... well, not a ban. I'm thinking more that he should be
dragged into the street and shot. But I'm not really sure dewds are worth the
price of the bullet.

Oh, I dunno. We could try taking up a collection. I'm always happy to
donate to a good cause.

I became tired of dewds about 15 minutes after I encountered the first
one back in 80-(mumble)-something. They're just so sadly,
transparently, desperate.

Well thank goodness terms like that are something of the past - I certainly
don't find the term endearing.

Back to the OP's point though - I agree with his suspension for a few days.
Is arguing with a GM going to change their minds? Not likely - If anything
I think it reinforced that they made the right decision.

You may ask what if it happened to me....well should it ever happen and I
get banned for a few days I would take my medicine...I wouldn't post in a
bunch of newsgroups not directly related to the game I'm playing looking
for sympathy.

I think you have to put some thought into what you post in-game given the
differing ages of players.

In fact the OP makes it quite clear in his emails that he was using the word
in its offensive sense, to mean coward. Just because he's ignorant of the
derivation of that sense of the word, doesn't make it any less offensive.

I love the OPs use of dictionary definitions to support himself, when none
of them is even close to the sense in which he openly admitted to using the
word!

I wouldn't consider using it in front of my mother, nor in polite company
in general.

In fact I can't really think of any circumstances where using this word or
one like it does anything other than highlight the speaker's immaturity.

Hmm. Can the EULA be read other than within the game or the game
box? Wouldn't that be the old 'shrink wrap license' deal that was
found to be unlawful and unenforcable ? In a court of law, which
trumps company policy.

He's not exaggerating anything. I agree with him 100%.

One refers to someone who is a coward and other is just calling someone
a jerk in general. Different meanings, yes. But they definitely still
do both refer to the human body. And you can rank words as being more
or less profane than other words even when they do have different
meanings.

It's not a coincidence that the same word refers to a wimp and to a
woman's body. He was entirely right when he talked about taking a
stereotype of women as weak, then taking a profane word for a woman's
anatomy, and putting those two things together to come up with an
insult. It's a metaphor.

As another person native to the language, you're exaggerating the situation,
to the point of being dishonest.

Pussy is more commonly used with regard to being timid, other meanings are
also derived from the cat family:

s/he's a pussy cat
s/he's a real tiger
lion hearted
and the list goes on. As for "only slightly" less offensive - you're
trying to pull our legs, used in that regard it is a hell of a lot less
offensive. As it is I've never heard anyone called a "pussy" as a toned
down version of "wise and beautiful woman" and I bet you haven't either.

Rubbish, when used to describe a person, "pussy" means coward. If it means
anything else I'm sure you'd be able to cite a film or book where "pussy"
has been used as an alternative way of calling a person a "wise and beautiful woman".

Bollocks it does, you idiot 😀 If he'd used the name Pussycat he'd
probably have been ok! I often hear "pussy" used to refer to women -
things like "Look at all the pussy over there at the bar" and so
forth. Jesus, you're dim.

Interesting choice of phrasing.

I find it somewhat amusing that you use slang for courage which derives from
possessing male genitals, then in the same breath, attempt to deny any link
between pussy meaning cowardice comes from linking the term to women.

Not that I expect you to acknowledge your stupidity at this point, but it'll
be pretty fun to watch Lokari hand you your ass in any event.

agreed entirely. The worst which should have happened was that he be given

Heck there's an emote for chicken and "chick" is commonly enogh used to
refer to females.
